Request Help on Slack

Having installed Slack Connector and connected to Slack you may want to pull in someone to help you with the questions from a visitor.

Sending request

  1. Open a chat in LiveChat.

  2. Open the right hand side chat widget with the Details section.

  3. Click on the Slack icon to bring Slack Connector interface on screen.

  4. Click Request tab to bring the Request Help screen

  5. Choose a Slack user you would like to ask for help.

  6. Optionally type in an extra information that will be sent to this person along with the request.

  7. You may click the checkbox Allow to supervise chat from Slackto allow them to open a private channel and provide you with ongoing help. All the messages including ones sent by customer will be visible to them in that mode.

  8. Click Request Help button and wait for response. Their answers will appear inside the chat window in gray which means that they are visible to agents only.

Response options

One that receives a help request from LiveChat has two options how to respond:

  • they can send a single message that will appear in the chat as visible to agents only

  • (if allowed) they can connect to the conversation in Slack and provide you with ongoing help
