Notifications

Having installed Slack Connector and connected to Slack you can subscribe to the selected events in the configuration tab of the chat widget.

All notifications are sent by @slackbot as a direct message to you. This ensures that information will not be leaked to anyone who is not supposed to get them. In case you are connected with multiple Slack workspaces you can also choose which one will receive all these notifications.

Notification types

At the time we have support for the following events:

  • chat has been started by a visitor

  • chat has been answered by an agent from your organization

  • chat has been rated by a visitor

Notification details

In addition to the base information you may configure notifications to include the following details:

  • email address (if available)

  • geolocation information: city, region country

  • IP address of the visitor

Configuration

  1. Open a chat in LiveChat.

  2. Open the right hand side chat widget with the Details section.

  3. Click on the Slack icon to bring Slack Connector interface on screen.

  4. Click on the Settings tab to open Slack Connector settings page.

     

  5. Configure your notifications settings using switches that appear on your screen.

  • You can also connect with another Slack workspace.

  • When you are connected to multiple Slack workspaces the star marks the default connection when all notifications will be sent.

Notification actions

When you subscribe to notifications for new chats you will now be able to answer such a chat and handle it entirely without leaving Slack by clicking Answer in Slack button of this notification.
